While my Mother was in the end of her life, she wanted to be sure she had "her ducks in a row" for me. There were many legalities that needed attention that she had already attempted to address and plan. During the last week of her life she insisted her will and be reviewed by a local attorney to ass ure it would be recognized in Arizona, as it had been written when I was still a minor in another state. Was pretty unimpressed with my experience here. The lawyer, Mr. Degnan, seemed very unprepared for our meeting which was a 300 dollar hour long consult and I felt the whole time he was just trying to rush me out. I could quickly tell he hadn't read the documentation or lease I had sent him based on a couple questions I asked early in the meeting. He barely seemed to know much at all, accurately, of my current situation. His solution to my situation was for him to quickly write up some draft of a letter he said I should send the business I was having an issue with and just kind of left that as the answer "here I wrote up what you should say just send them a letter like this." No talk of what could happen after that, how I should follow up based on how the business replies to that letter, what the consequences of the letter could be, nothing really. Just here real quick send a letter like this to them, that's what you should do - followed by like a facial expression of hope that I would just be satisfied with that and leave. Which, eventually, I did since he seemed so disinterested in the whole thing. He also had to get up literally 5 or 6 times to print out general laws that apply to the situation I was in since, as I said, he was unprepared. So, 300 dollars for 30 minutes of a lawyer that seemed ready for me to be out the door the second I came in. It was clear he didn't see my case as something he would want to take on, which is completely fine with me. But at least be prepared and give me the time I'm paying for. Put some actual effort into the person who is paying for your time. I would give 1 star, but I'm giving 2 because he was at least open to me emailing him follow-up questions after the meeting which I thought was cool.

My case involved liens being placed on my home by a man I didn't know or ever did business with. I eventually lost this home to a foreclosure as I was unable to refinance due to the wrongful liens. Mr. Dessaules and his team (in addition to Jonathan: Douglas and Hilary have also been exceptionally helpful) have provided me with patient, timely, responsive, highly-competent, skilled, and fairly-priced representation. I am a licensed AZ attorney who practices in a very different area of law an d came to a point where I found myself far outside my professional realm of comfort, requiring assistance relating to a personal and emotional HOA problem, which necessitated that I secure retention of an attorney with substantial experience dealing in plaintiff HOA issues & real estate law. Best attorney ever! I had a horrible experience with my hoa not releasing old liens and double billing during litigation. We went back and forth for 13 years until I hired Jonathan Dessaules as my hoa attorney within 2 months my liens were released and my ledger was zero. I highly recommend any is sues you may have with your hoa hire him do not try to fight on your own the laws are easily mis leading hard to understand he knew every law Jonathan was able explain why it was not right to me and he was able to have it cleared up fast. I had an almost 6000 ledger go to zero for my family to truly start fresh! I wish I found him in 2010 would have saved me so much more.
