I don't believe for a second that Josh has this many good reviews. I would say the majority of these reviews are doctored. In my most vulnerable state, I was taken advantage of not by my ex-wife but by Josh. For the most part, my ex and I were in good agreement and needed help with certain par ticulars we just couldn't agree on, which is why I felt the need to turn to a lawyer in the first place. The moment Josh met with my ex and her lawyer, he immediately caused harm to my case. He had the idea that it was better that he handled the initial negotiations by himself with me in another room. Huge mistake. He created a mess of everything, and I had to talk my ex out of wanting more than what we had initially agreed upon. After I was able to come to terms with my ex on my own about nearly everything again, Josh was able to ruin it all over again. At this point, he did not want to represent me. Passively, he was begging me to fire him, which happened to be at the end of the process and the most critical part. I ultimately did because he made it so difficult that nothing was being done except charging my credit card. He started off strong and seemed to be on the ball about everything, but as the months wore on, he became negligent and almost put off that I didn't want to email him too frequently so he could charge me a $60 response. He charged me 12 min to read and respond to a single question. He would take calls while driving through traffic and often forget things discussed in those conversations and wait until you set up another phone call or email so he could charge you again to remind him. He would advise me on how to handle situations, and after I did what he advised, he would ask why I made such a poor decision. Going through a divorce is the worst thing in the world, but to get screwed over twice is almost unbearable. It’s pretty bad when your ex feels bad for you enough that if I asked, she would also write a horrible review for him. I basically spent thousands of dollars for Josh to serve my ex and stall my divorce for nearly a year so that I would fire him before the job was over. It seemed as if he was done with me the moment we both decided we wanted to keep our case from going to trial. Please learn from my expensive mistake and stay far away. Sabrina, however, was awesome.

I had recently settled my arrears in child support with the state of Texas, paying 15 years was long enough to pay, so the exwife and I agreed and settled. A couple of months later the state of Arizona sent me a letter still wanting to collect $31,000. I searched and hired Modern Law and was assigned Kevin due to his close relationships with the Az child support. Kevin Vale conferred with me about my ongoing family court case, which he has represented me on for the past year. This particular contact was for a follow up on question I had asked him. I have been going thru a difficult divorce trial. I was referred to Brian Petersen by my Legalshield service. Legalshield has recently removed the Edwards and Petersen from their referral system due to the complaints I made to them about Brian Petersen. This firm requires a 5K deposit balance to be m aintained so they can draw from it at will. I revised our contract to reflect that I would deposit to my account as needed. Brian accepted the revision and I made the 5K deposit. I had a Temp Orders hearing in which Brian was to seek temp orders for alimony as all my resources were taken from me by my ex husband. Well he failed at the temp orders hearing. The judge failed to make a decision. Brian never even question my ex on the stand he did not manage the time proficiently. After that I paid another 2K. Due to what happened to me Brian said he would give me time to come up with more money for him since my trial was not until the end of May. Although this was devastating too me as I needed to figure out how to survive but I was working on getting Brian thousands more before trial. During this time Brian was able to agree with the other attorney that I could have my clothes and personal belongings as they were all taken from me. Well Brian set up a meeting in which I had to get a Uhaul and pick up my stuff. I was only given junk from my exes storage and not my stuff at all. Brain said before that if this happened he would file an injunction. When I reported to him what happened he said there was nothing he could do and blew me off. I know now it was because I didn't have more money for him to file the injunction. Also after the failed Temp Orders hearing Brian kept asking him to let him withdraw from my case. He said he would take it again after I came up with more money but I would not consent to this as at this time I was starting to not trust him. He sent a threating letter all the sudden demanding that my new balance of over $1300 be paid and my account be brought to a 5K balance or he was withdrawing. He called me and was very demanding and threating. When I reminded him that we revised our contract he became upset. He gave me a week to pay the 1300 and basically asked me to submit a proposal when the rest could be paid and he would discuss it with his partner Edwards. It seemed that Edwards was pressuring him to not honor our revised contract. After telling him when I could pay the 1300 and asked him to honor our contract he gave me the remainder of that week and then withdrew. Both lawyers at this firm have been removed from the Legalshield referral list due to how they have treated me. If you have unlimited resources than this firm will prob help you. If not they will take all you have and leave you hanging. I am filling a bar complaint in two counties due to Brain not honoring our contract and his failures. I will follow up on this site as I get results with that. Also when I had to drive 5 Hrs to pick up my file I called the firm to let them know I would be 10mins late due to traffic. Mr Edwards was very cruel and said he would not wait one min longer than 5:05PM. I had to sleep in my car over night to get my file from them due tom this. Please beware of Brian Petersen. If you don't have unlimited resources he will turn against you and take all youre money and leave you hanging with youre case.

I’ve been working with Mr. Petersen’s office for a while now, and they’ve consistently been professional throughout the process. They always keep me informed about the status of my case, so I never feel like I’m in the dark. While Mr. Petersen can be busy, he’s always responsive. He replies to my emails in a timely fashion — sometimes after hours or very early in the morning — depending on how urgent the issue is. One thing I truly respect is that Mr. Petersen doesn’t sugarcoat things. He gives me his honest opinion based on the law and what a judge would likely consider reasonable. Where do I begin to rate my experience with Todd Simpson? First I met him in 2019 when I began interviewing attorneys. I consulted with Jay about divorce and child custody before the pandemic. Then the pandemic hit and everything got so crazy that I wasn't sure what to do. Other lawyers I talked to tried to scare me into hiring them and filing all kinds of documents immediately. They told me my case was too complicat ed to handle by myself and pressured me into giving them a retainer. Jay was the only one who took the time to explain to me what I needed to know. If your a guy, do not hire Carrie Cravatta. Carrie pulled off some pretty shady tactics, like running my retainer out right before a court date, then holding important documents and motions over my head until I paid. Also sent me emails minutes before a hearing outlining what she was going to bring u p in court, then never did. I had to bring up the issues on my own. This attorney was a joke at best and I'm checking into a possible lawsuit. Read the previous reviews carefully. Yeah, kinda sounds like family and friends to me too.

Terrible law firm. The lawyer I used made frequent mistakes through her staff including: incorrect information communicated in email, needing frequent time line reminders, not remembering important case details, not paying court fees the lawyer was instructed to pay (thus delaying the process), omi tting important details in the divorce settlement relating to property settlement allocation and who would retain possession of individual accounts (this resulted in additional paper work filing with financial institutions and unnecessary closing of accounts), alarming and stressing the client due to incorrectly remembering details of the case. These failures resulted in unnecessary delays, created anxiety, and increased fees charged to the client.

Deean represented me in my child custody case in 1991. I was frightened and concerned that child's alcoholic father would be able to share custody. She never had my side. She didn’t even remember that she was my attorney at the beginning of my case. She may as well have been working for my ex. She merely did paperwork, did not defend me, did not counsel me and just took my money . At the end I was in a worst position than when I started.

Powerhouse!! I worked with Scott and his offices over a custody dispute with the mother of my child. I was an out of state Father with no rights dealing with a Mother that tried everything possible to attempt to disrupt my time with my Daughter. I met with Dianne Sullivan & hired her after our first consultation. This is my 2nd try on the same divorce & after speaking with her I'm actually glad my first attorney screwed up my case because she believes my case wasn't settled in my best interest. I've hired her to represent me in this second t ry & I've got no doubt this case will be over in half the time, in my best interest & with the final results weighing more in my favor. Her office keeps me informed on a daily basis on where the case is & when or what the next step is. I never thought I'd even consider hiring a female attorney to represent me in a divorce case as I thought a male attorney would be the best to represent another male in a divorce case but having the thoughts & views of a female when you're going up against another female is the best since they think the same will know doubt give me the edge in the case. I had an extremely contentious divorce case that Scott Stewart represented me on. I had many false accusations made against me that I had to prove were wrong and Mr Stewart did an amazing job articulating my case in a very strategic, yet realistic manner. He was always very up front and honest about what he felt I could and could not get in this case and I can honestly say that I feel that he did his best to at the same time get me as much as was possible while also keeping my costs reasonable. He would often counsel me on not pursuing a part of the case that he did not feel I had a reasonable chance of winning even though he would have made more money if I had.
