  • ★★★★★Excellent attorney

    Nathan Pearson · litigation ·

Jesse Cook is an excellent attorney, and all of the folks I interacted with at the Cook & Price law firm were very genuine and accommodating. I had a complicated and potentially costly situation that was resolved extremely quickly and effectively. If this wasn't a legal matter I would share more d etails, but the important things to note: - I had a favorable outcome - I always felt respected and appreciated - Communications were excellent - It was immediately apparent that Jesse was experienced in the matter at hand and I was able to completely rely on his judgement - In terms of costs, I would say the quality of work is very high and I got more value than I paid for I would highly recommend Jesse Cook to anyone in need of legal representation!

  • ★★★★No call backs only late Friday emails

He never returns calls. He left my box truck sit for a month and didn’t relay messages properly.

  • ★★★★★Down to earth, clear and concise, gave me peace of mind

I had a consultation with Jesse Cook yesterday and I couldn’t be more happy with how it went. This was my first time contacting an attorney and I was very nervous. But Mr. Cook was very down to earth, helped me understand all my options, and answered every question I had clearly and concisely. The pe ace of mind I got as a result of our conversation was 100% worth the cost of the consultation, which was reasonably priced to begin with. Frankly, if you could leave 25% tips for attorneys like you do with other professionals, I would. In addition, the legal assistant who scheduled the consultation and accepted all of my documentation (Kierra Formica) was very professional, articulate, and pleasant to work with.

I consulted with Ethan at the Law Office of Jesse Cook regarding a landlord-tenant matter involving retaliation, consumer issues, and civil litigation concerns. Based on the firm’s website and intake representations, I was told these areas were within their scope. During the consultation, retaliat ion was not meaningfully addressed, and my legal interest as an occupant was dismissed solely because I was not on the lease, despite a pending motion to add occupant. The discussion was reduced to “paying rent,” even after I explained that rent had been paid and that text communications reflected a payment agreement with the landlord. Communication felt disengaged when factual corrections were made, and the consultation did not involve substantive analysis of the evidence presented. I paid $275 for the consultation. I was quoted $1,500 and $5,000 for a detainer, but those figures were not accompanied by a clear explanation of scope or services. I was only advised that review would take 24–48 hours, and no partial refund or fee adjustment was offered. After posting a public review, the attorney contacted me stating he believed the consultation went well and offered a separate consultation with Jesse Cook, which I believed had already been the case at the time of booking. This reinforced my concern about intake and expectation misalignment. This review reflects my experience as a paying client.

  • ★★★★★Hey Landlords, You Should Hire This Tenant-Focused Law Firm. Really!

    Mark · real estate ·

We are landlords with property in Cochise County, Arizona. We retained Jesse Cook and his associate Ethan Aman on a limited representation basis to assist us with an appeal to the Superior Court of an adverse Justice Court decision, which pertained to our (landlord's) alleged violations of the Arizo na Residential Landlord Tenant Act (ARLTA). Ethan Aman wrote the appeal. While the appeal was unsuccessful, we (and he) believe this was due to the Court's disregard of the facts and misuse of the law, basically demonstrating the Court's unwillingness to do any actual work. The appeal document was thorough, factual, and well-constructed. Ethan worked well with us to incorporate information we believed was important for the Court to (re)consider. We followed up with a Motion for Reconsideration, responding to the Superior Court's decision. We wrote the reconsideration memorandum, but we hired Jesse Cook (again) to review it in the context of the Superior Court's decision. While we only paid for a 1 hour consultation, Jesse Cook devoted much more time than that to assist us in getting the memo right. He also carefully analyzed our actions/the facts of the case (that resulted in our loss in Justice Court) with respect to our statutory obligations. He concluded we had acted correctly, that our tenant was at fault, and that the Courts had misapplied the laws and ignored the facts of the case. He summarized his opinion by stating that had our case been heard in Maricopa County, we absolutely would have prevailed. Cook's firm specializes in helping tenants who are dealing with bad landlords. They are perhaps the most tenant-focused law firm in Arizona. We knew this about them, going in, and it is why we selected their firm. We wanted a firm that would set us straight, if indeed we were acting badly and violating ARLTA. If you are a good landlord, or want to become one, you should work with this law firm. Because they have strong experience in pursuing cases from both tenants' and landlords' perspectives, they have unique and valuable skills not possessed by other "landlord" law firms. We recommend you consider Jesse Cook first for your ARLTA lawsuit.
