About one year ago I discovered to my horror that our domain portfolio had been raided, and 32 very valuable names were taken and transferred away to an overseas registrar. I contacted our company lawyer who immediately tried to contact the parties involved and get the names transferred back to us. I contacted law enforcement and there was nothing they could do. Our lawyer was suggesting ways to get the names back that involved a lot of time and money. Our lawyer wanted us to appeal to ICANN which could take months or even years. I did a lot of research and realized that the people who stole the domains were trying to sell them to unsuspecting clients. Luckily some of the names were returned without incident but 14 remained overseas. These domains were worth thousands and were a key part to our business.
