- ★★★★★Workplace request for reasonable accomodation
Jeremy · employment law ·
I decided to request a reasonable accommodation at my job as a result of a health issue that occurred earlier this year. However, based on interactions with my federal agency concerning a separate issue that I tried unsuccessfully to handle myself last year, I knew I needed to hire an attorney this time. Courtney was very knowledgeable about the reasonable accommodation process and provided excellent advice regarding how I should respond to my agency's requests for information. In addition she was quick to answer my emails and phone calls which helped alleviate a large part of the stress I had waiting for my agency to render a decision. Ultimately I was granted my reasonable accommodation request but I firmly believe that I would not have been successful if I hadn't retained Courtney as an attorney to assist me with navigating the process.
- ★★★★★EEO Case
John · litigation ·
Provided reliable trustworthy representation; prompt to keep me informed following dialogue with Agency (overseas) legal representation. Stood firm but tactful during settlement negotiations. Made sure I understood my options providing frank straightforward explanations during every stage. Very court eous and professional dialogue with the Federal Judge; always left me with a feeling my interest were safeguarded; effectively represented me from start to finish. Highly recommended, wanted on your team.

Attorney Courtney Mickman receives the highest recommendation. My EEOC case took three years to settle and throughout the process Ms. Mickman was very efficient, responsive to my inquiries, regularly kept me apprised of status on a regular basis, and was an overall pleasure to work with during a dif ficult EEOC employment case. I was particularly appreciative of her sensitivity to case cost containment as well as her recommendations and opinions on particular approaches to take. She exhibited a high level of knowledge of employment law and EEOC procedures throughout the three-year case.
- ★★★★★Great Attorney!

Attorney Mickman is an amazing attorney. I had a consultation at Tully Rinckey in DC where she works regarding an employment discrimination case. She was very attentive and advised me of my next steps in the EEO filing process. Her assistant is great and they always returned my calls or emails promp tly.

I had a very favorable outcome in my case because of Melissa's work. She was smart, tough (in the way a lawyer needs to be), extremely responsive -- answering all of my questions, providing context when I needed more information, and sending timely updates on how my case was progressing. I always fel t taken care of. Melissa is a great lawyer, but what really made the difference was that she was also easy to work with, empathetic, candid, and funny. She made an inherently hard experience easier, while achieving the results I wanted.
- ★★★★★Highly Competent lawyer with true compassion

Melissa is a highly competent lawyer that genuinely cares about her clients. Her staff is extremely professional, and she will walk you through the process with expertise, extreme knowledge and kindness. I can't recommend her enough!
- ★★★★★Best Experience
Melissa ·
Since the first time speaking with Melissa, I knew she was the right person for the job! It was my first time ever working with a lawyer and she made my experience so easy. She was very clear and honest from the beginning and educated me on processes and also cares about your situation. Her respons e rate is amazing and puts your mind at ease knowing someone is on your side. I would highly recommend her.
- ★★★★★The absolute best
Cierra ·
I hired Melissa after dealing (and firing) with the worst lawyer of my life. She was so kind and took the time to explain to me legal terms and strategy that made sense for my case. She was an advocate for me and gave her professional advice while being supportive of my concerns.
- ★★★★★Great job

For clients, it is the first (and hopefully the only) time that we go through this harrowing experience. Melissa leverages her years of experience and insight to provide concise, meaningful and timely explanations. She also informs the strategy while enabling the client to make the final decision and adjusts her interventions accordingly. She quickly responded to texts, calls and emails. She did an excellent job and ended up with a relatively generous settlement.

I maintain Dan Meyer at Tully Rinckey on call as a Defense and Intelligence Community contractor, because it just makes sense given all the security-centric issues I have to deal with on a day-to-day basis. Dan and I were chatting, and I mentioned a project I was working on, and asked whether it requ ired pre-publication review. He thought, ‘maybe’; ‘maybe’ is a nightmare for me, so I said, “Let’s submit it”. I had visions of endless red tape, requests for information, yadda, yadda, yadda; Dan reeled off about six other client experiences, without breaching confidentiality, and said, “30 Days”. My first two publications were just approved. He definitely kept his word!
- ★★★★★Dan knows the IG and security clearance field!
anonymous · government law ·
I found myself under an IG investigation and was in a true panic as I never had to deal with this before. I called Tully Rinckey and set up a consult. They suggested Dan Meyer as counsel in their Washington DC Office. Dan was completely unfazed. I mean, completely. “Ankle-biting” he called it. He devised a strategy based on his years as a line investigator for the Defense Department inspector general and oversighting investigations for the Intelligence Community inspector general. As the investigation stalked me, Dan stalked the investigation and stayed on the phone with me throughout my interview. He sent me info and walked me through what to include in my statement. I learned soooo much. Just got the word, the investigation is closed with no findings and that’s because Dan prepared me with everything I needed to defend my reputation and job. Don’t be bashful if you are in unfamiliar territory, TR will find you the way!
- ★★★★★Daniel Meyer is a fellow US Veteran Military Officer now "Lawyer" Who Takes Care of People
anonymous · government law ·
My "buddy" who was a Special Mission Unit (SMU) Forces lawyer JAG recommended Daniel Meyer and his team when heard about what I was facing at my "Agency". With all the stuff in the USG, you can all imagine what might be going one. Based on his recommendations, I reached out to Daniel Meyer. Daniel listened closely to what I had to say. Really listened. He noted that I would likely not succeed, but I had a honorable case and offered a plan. He spoke to me as a fellow "Officer". Crazy thing is, based significant part based on their advice, I'm now back to work. I credit very much that my "Organization" knows that Daniel Meyer and his organization is behind me. Sometimes you have to bring in the heavy firepower, Daniel Meyer is apparently "heavy legal firepower". He wisely told me when not to waste his very "expensive" time on unproductive or unnecessary things. If anything, by hiring him, I saved money, as he noted to me when his time would be wasted. I followed his advice, though my emotion may have wanted "justice". This is one of those cases where paying for "high price" help, saves you lots of money and resources. Thank you Daniel Meyers. My family appreciates that I hired you.
- ★★★★★Excellent thoughtful patient advice

I am loosely considering third country citizenship after I was selected for a prestigious program in the Armed Forces. I am a dual citizen now. So to understand the process, I gave Tully Rinckey a call and paid for a consultation. They connected me to the Washington D.C. national security partner, Da n Meyer. Dan walked me through Guideline B, Foreign Influence and Guideline C, Foreign Preference. Even better, he shared with me client successes and failures - anonymized to maintain confidentiality - so I could focus on my own needs. I am all set, and will come back to the Firm if I need additional help !
- ★★★★★Security Clearance Concerns
anonymous · government law ·
I found myself facing Guideline D, E, & M security concerns, and needed to self report. Tully Rinckey’s consult process gave me an understanding of the issues, so I retained and they assigned the matter to national security partner Dan Meyer in Washington, D.C. Dan put together a strategy based on my individual needs, and we filed proactively with Security. This was an overwhelmingly stressful time in my life, and Dan Meyer put my concerns to rest. Even in times when I felt the worst was to come, he was there to reassure me that he believes my evidence was strong. He initially sent me a lot of documents and forms, and I'll admit it was a lot to read and alot to take in. He instructed me on what he thinks I need to do based off his experience dealing with other Guideling D, E, & M security concern cases. It's simple - follow every recommendation he gives you, because he knows what he's doing. I even retained TR again, expecting further review. My experience with Tully Rinckey was first class. I have no doubt that I came out of this whole experience a better person with my reputation intact and am forever grateful for Dan Meyer and Tully Rinckey. Go with the best, go TR!
- ★★★★★Hands down best on their team!!

Sara McDonough represented me in my case. I was located in another state and any apprehension I had about my case she always reassured me with her honesty. There are no words that can describe the amount of appreciation for Sara’s hard work and dedication on my case. From our first phone meeting to our last, she continuously gave me piece of mind and demonstrated time and again she was there for me. Her confidence in my case made me feel so at ease.

My experience with Ms. Clark was superb from start to finish. It's often hard to call any legal experience a pleasure, but working with her qualifies.

My prior employer refused to pay out the severance package they had promised. Denise was very knowledgeable in the law, made sure we followed all the procedures and jumping through the hoops necessary to get my severance back. She was patient with all my questions and in the end, despite the compan y pushing hard claiming I wasn't eligible and denying my claims, got me my entire severance package without having to go to court. Amazing person, patient, very caring and understanding. Also very hard working, talking to me late at night to answer questions for what was probably a very small case for her. I'm lucky I was referred to her and knock on wood if I somehow need another employment attorney she'll be my first call.
- ★★★★★Highly recommended her
anonymous · employment law ·
Ms. Clark negotiated my severance payment for me when my position was eliminated along with 6 others who were in the age of 45 to 66. She was referred to me by a prominent employer lawyer based in Chicago. She is a hard worker and always available. She is very knowledgeable. I was very appreciati ve for she has done for me to get a better severance payment. She is a great ally when you need someone to represent for you.
- ★★★★★Capable & Effective Practitioner
