Fight back! You will be glad you did. Attorney Alex personally called me right away and after ascertaining I deserved my deposit back, he went to work. A certified letter from Alex is all it took and I received my deposit back plus they had to pay my attorney's fee. Woo Hoo! Go Littleguy! I highly r ecommend everyone to fight back when your security deposit is unjustly kept if there were no damages and your rent was paid up to date. Reasonable wear and tear does NOT come out of your deposit. The none refundable pet fees were meant for deep carpet cleaning the landlord has to do after move out. Don't hesitate to ask the "littleguy". He can work anywhere in the state for you.

I had some issues with my landlord waiting 5 months before making any claim on my security deposit, and at the end of the 5th month she decided that her claim would be for all of it. I reached out to the LGLF and they reviewed my case and provided a very courteous discussion about what my rights we re and what I would need to submit to them to further my case. As I reviewed the documents they asked me to provide, I came across a point in my lease agreement that quite clearly stated they had 30 days to make a claim after I left, or they cannot make a claim against my deposit. I had read prior to this discovery the Renter's Rights law in Florida and sent it to the landlord, but I don't think she took it seriously until she saw that she had signed off on that very document. Ultimately, I did not have to move forward with the legal case as my landlord provided me with my full security deposit. However the guidance provided by the LGLF was instrumental in causing this favorable outcome. Although I signed a document indicating I would hire them for their service and could have pressed on with the case, they politely indicated that our relationship was terminated and I would not be charged anything. All in all, it was a great experience with kind and concerned people who I am sure all too often have to deal with landlords of questionable repute. I would recommend this service to anyone who has felt they have been wronged by a landlord.

I had a serious charge, min 10 years max 20. I was recommended to Keeley's firm by a friend, she had nothing but good things to say about the firm and specially Court Keelyey. I sat down with another lawyer before seeing Court, a second opinion is always a good thing to have. The other attorney wasn' t bad, he was actually pretty good, but Court had a way better resume, specially that fact that he's a Certified Trail Lawyer! That's a very important qualification to have for my case, since trail is a very strong possibility. To make a long story short, Court and his team, specially Anna Morales. A very strong minded, dedicated and extremely persistent attorney that proved that hard work can make the system flow flawlessly. Court and Anna replied to every phone call and every text my nervous and impatient butt had. Anyway, between them two and the rest of the firm (they work every case as a team, so i had a bunch of lawyers on my case, not just one) they build a defense, argued, wrote motions, prayed, had dinner with Jesus Christ , I don't know..lol, but what ever it was it was great. I spoken to a few attorneys and they don't know how they pulled it off. Smart Lawyer who love their job and are very good at it, thats how. My lawyer told me i had a deposition the day before, so it did not go well. Communication has been horrible an he has always been hard to reach, never did deposition against defendent, or mediation but let them have a deposition on me. I have emails where he not responding for weeks. Now my case is worth 35,000 an he wants 40 percent of that an have not shown any fight whatsoever. An there is a lot of other inconsistency but i can not put them on here. I really need help
