I retained Thomas Field as part of a long relationship with Beermann LLP. Over 12 years, I paid the firm hundreds of thousands in legal fees. Despite this loyalty, I was treated dismissively and left disempowered when I sought to transition to new counsel and fairly resolve billing issues. After r aising concerns—including a serious conflict of interest that was never disclosed—the firm filed a fee petition against me while refusing to collect from the opposing party, who had been ordered to contribute. Mr. Field was the first attorney I retained, at age 26. During our professional relationship, he made personal comments that crossed boundaries and left me uncomfortable.
