BEWARE: Galen Criscione took my case…conducted no research…sporadically responded to emails, never responded to calls. Several weeks with no progress he then sends an email stating he can no longer take the case with no explanation. The experience was very disappointing and unprofessional. Review of Attorney Galen Criscione / Criscione Ravala, LLP I hired attorney Galen Criscione to represent me in a defamation lawsuit after I spoke out about poor dental work. By the time he became my attorney, it was too late to file a dental malpractice claim. I paid him a flat fee of $20,000 for representation in two cases. After receiving payment, he went on vacation and I didn’t hear from him for about a month. He had promised to come to Florida to meet with me but never did. Over the next eight months, he did no meaningful discovery — he never reviewed the ledgers, notes, or other evidence in the case, and he did not perform the basic groundwork any competent attorney would do. At one point, a Florida judge gave him two weeks to revise a motion he had filed. He refused to make the revisions, and the judge sanctioned us about $6,000, most of which I had to pay. When I asked him why he didn’t fix it, he told me he “wasn’t worried about the sanctions,” which clearly showed he wasn’t acting in my best interest. When I later filed for binding arbitration in New York under his own written contract, the arbitrator awarded me $10,000. His agreement specifically states: “You waive your right to a de novo review of the fee dispute arbitration panel’s decision, which you agree shall be final and binding.” Despite that, he refused to pay anything, offered me $1,000 instead of the $10,000 award, and then filed a lawsuit against me — violating his own contract. He’s even claimed that he “spent more money than he was paid,” despite the fact that he agreed to a flat fee and did little to no substantive work. Because he took the $20,000 I needed for legal representation, I was forced to represent myself (pro se) for over a year while dealing with this ongoing defamation case, which has now dragged on for two years. I’m a 67-year-old first responder and former employee of the New York Supreme Court. I’ve always tried to do what’s right, but this experience has been devastating. I’m sharing my story so that others can make an informed decision before hiring this attorney.

Best lawyer I have had experience with. Keeps his word. Handled 2 issues for me. Saw someone left him a negative review. Maybe some situations have mitigating circumstances. Seems like that client didn’t lose funds or a retainer, at least. From what I know, Galen is an honest guy and one of the better options out there. I have only the best things to say about my experience with Daniel Flanzig. Before the pandemic, I was injured in a bike accident while on a trip to NYC. Greg is an excellent attorney and I would strongly recommend him to anyone, especially those closest to me. A little over a year ago I had an initial consultation with Greg to discuss an issue with my employer not responding to my ADA requests.
