  • ★★★★Do not use this lawyer

    anonymous ·

This lawyer dragged his feet and billed us for work he never performed. He is never available to take a call and never responds to emails. He was quick to set up a sit down to bill me for and never came through on any of the work he said he would do for my case. He charged me over a thousand dollars for zero work ( literally zero) performed. Do not trust this lawyer, you will regret it.

  • ★★★★Eviction case frequently delayed and non responsive to calls and emails. Missed court date without notifying me.

I signed the retainer agreement on 12/21/2025. The next day I called the office to confirm how the process is going to look. I was told that the office will try to have everything ready and sent out before Christmas, but if not, that it should be sent out sometime the first week of January. After th e first week of January has passed, I called again and was told that the office was backed up because they were closed during the holidays and that their office will try to address this matter as soon as possible. I ended up scheduling a phone conversation on 01/16/2026 since nothing was done the first week of January. During the conversation with Mr. Montanaro on January 16th, 2026, I was told that the document was being finalized as we speak and that my tenant would be served hopefully the next day on the 17th, if not, then she should be served by Tuesday (January 20th, 2026) the latest. I called the office on January 20th and the 21st to see if she was served which she was not. I scheduled a call with Mr. Montanaro on the 26 at 12pm in which i was called by someone other than Mr. Montanaro to tell me that it is outside the office's control and that they are just waiting for the process server to give her the documents. I requested to speak with the process server or at least have your office speak with the person to see what's going on. I was told I can't speak with them as they are an independent party. I called again on the 28th and no new information was provided to me. I went to your office in farmingdale on the 29th at approximately 4pm/4:15pm and no one was there. The door was locked and I was knocking/waiting for approximately 5-10 min. No one answered the office door so I left and I called the office where someone picked up and told me that there should be someone at the office (there was not). She was finally served in February 6th and hired a lawyer to respond for her. Mr. Montanaro was supposed to respond to the opposing lawyer by a certain date and show up for court on March 31st. I called his office almost everyday to get an update on his response status and they kept telling me "he's busy, he'll call you back by the end of today or tomorrow". This went on for 2 weeks until the court date on March 31st finally came and HE DID NOT EVEN SHOW UP! I hear from the judge that he submitted a letter requesting to postpone it. I get a new date from the court and then start calling his office again to confirm he is going to respond to the opposing lawyer. They tell me "he's busy, he will call you back either by the end of today or tomorrow". This went on for over a week as I called almost every single day. I definitely do not recommend ever using this lawyer and it baffles me how he is rated above 4 stars.

  • ★★★★★Mark is amazing

Luis Fernando Morales · criminal defense ·

Mark is amazing. I wish I would have gone with his firm when I got into an accident earlier this year. However, I choose him to fight a couple of tickets. He’s very knowledgeable his staff is organized and attentive to your needs. Great experience and 100% recommend others to use his services. I don’ t usually review many experiences but he is without a doubt a true professional in his field and I’m grateful I was referred to him and do not regret it at all. He is a true class act and recommend others to go with him to represent you in any situation you find yourself in.

  • ★★★★Good for NOTHING!!!!!!!

    anonymous · criminal defense ·

Hired him because he said he would take of the traffic tickets. He did nothing more for me than I could have done for myself in the end. Even did nothing about my being suspended for 4 months while my court date was pending. All he did was politely take my money. I contacted the court about this and they told me he stated that I wanted to plea to the charge. Why would I hire an attorney when I coukd have done that myself????

  • ★★★★★Excellent Attorney

I received a couple tickets while driving in Nassau and I wanted to get that fixed. Mark and his team were incredibly friendly, responsive and resolved any issues that arose in a timely fashion... They were all professional, pleasant and confident in my case. Mark was a pleasure and with the help of this office, I was able to limit the amount of points I would've gotten had I not met these amazing folks! I couldn't believe how easy and affordable Montanaro Law made the process. Again, I cannot recommend them highly enough.
