I went to David for help with a gender discrimination issue, and he really fought for me. We worked together for about two years, and he always treated me as an equal, which I really appreciated. He's super smart and always had a plan to stay ahead of the other side. Whenever things got tough, he was there for me with support and kindness. He's confident and not afraid to take on big law firms. With him and Joshua on my side, standing up for myself felt less scary. The outcome of my case was life-changing, and I'll always be grateful for what they did for me. I highly recommend David for anyone needing a great lawyer.

I hired attorney back in September 2015, to handle a complex litigation case against a predatory for profit school located in Virginia. Initially she seemed extremely qualified based on her prior work and her overwhelmingly, positive reviews. I only agreed to a 2500$ retainer and hourly fee arrang ement for research on claims based on her claim to take the case on a contingency once the other class plaintiffs came on board. At first, things seemed to be going well, I had a number of productive meetings with Mrs alexia and a resent law school graduate who is no longer employed at the firm as of today, (Aruna Chittiappa). Then in December of 2015, during our 3rd face to face meeting, Mrs alexia and her law clerk, asked for additional money for further unsubstantiated legal research in the amount of 800$,. I reluctantly agreed but began to suspect she was running a billing scheme. During this meeting she changed her story from the initial meeting back in September of 2015, now stating, she would entertain the idea of a contingency agreement for filing the case, which contradicted what she initially said to me. Considering the vast fanatical resources at the disposal the defendant, contingency arrangements are not uncommon in plaintiffs litigation. Usually this is worked out in the beginning as it was for my prior litigation matters, After another two months things began to unravel. When one of my plaintiffs contacted her firm intent on joining the case, she found numerous excuses to avoid signing him up to the case despite asking about him on prior occasions, she also became belligerent toward him during the initial conversation. Alexia stated to him during this conversation(around march of 2016), she never agreed to any type of contingency arrangement with me during our first meeting before handing over the 2500$ to her firm. Furthermore, she made a humiliating presentation to a state of Virginia attorney general investigator over a minor trivial mistake over representing the other plaintiffs who also filed complaints on my behalf. In addition to these above transgressions, Alexia had for months claimed in face to face conversations, that our documents were with another firm which had been conducting research into the class action claims on our behalf. We began to suspect foul play based on her deception and lack of honesty. After reaching out to the firm, I spoke with an associate attorney who confirmed what I had suspected, the firm was never sent any documents or actively researching our case. After consulting the other potential student plaintiffs, I decided to terminate my relationship with this firm, and fight to recover my 3500$ through Citibank debit card. After months of hard fighting, I was able to recover the funds which alexia had no business stealing from our group. The only funds I did not contest was a 250$ credit card purchase which paid for a demand letter Alexia forwarded to the defendants attorney. I currently found new representation during the summer of this year for a consumer case and discovered she was also inaccurate on numerous legal claims. I still continue to receive bills from the firm in the amount of 10,000$ for a case that was never filed and suspect research, which was inaccurate on most issues. The firms partner had no role in this corruption considering I never met him during any of the meetings or spoke with him over the phone .

I contacted four different attorneys before hiring Alexis Berkowitz for a complicated case of discrimination. I can say, without hesitation, that Alexis is a high profile attorney, extremely knowledgeable and deeply talented. From the first consultation to the resolution of my case, I felt supported and Alexis over- exceeded my expectations. She is without a doubt at the top of her game, and still manages to be very personable and caring. It was a pleasure to work with Alexis and I am so glad I found her.

My rating is at 100% for a job well done in just less then 24 hours. Once again thanks so much for caring and having my back.
- ★★★★★Great and Dedicated Labor Law Lawyer
Jonathan · employment law ·
I hired Ms. Berkowitz on what was originally a straightforward labor case against a former employer. However due to a combination of mergers and bankruptcies of my former employer, the case became a legal entanglement, but even though it took FAR longer then it should of, through no fault of Ms. Berk owitz, she did finally conclude my case in a satisfactory and financially positive manner. I was able to follow up even after my case was completed in regards to tax implications without any issues.
- ★★★★★RUDE!

Incredibly rude. I have worked with a dozen attorneys, with mixed results, and I never leave reviews. But this one? He was so awful to me, immediately. Please look elsewhere.

Vince was very easy to talk to and very professional. He clearly explained my options and gave me valid reasons for them. He was excellent on following through with what he promised me.
- ★★★★★Compassionate Lawyer and Fierce Advocate
anonymous · civil rights ·
I was fortunate to be referred to Attorney Vincent White to discuss a thorny legal issue. While the matter fell outside of his jurisdiction and the case was an uphill battle by its nature, Vince was amazingly supportive. He spent over an hour extensively discussing options with me for no fee. Pr ior to the call, he had researched a civil rights commission thousands of miles from his office as a creative avenue to pursue justice. He was warm, encouraging -- and consummately professional. He will make you feel heard and supported. While he could not take the specific case, he still put in the good fight. Any client would be supremely lucky to be represented by Vince. As a Supreme Court Justice recently told the American Bar Association, "I tell law students if you’re not used to fighting losing battles, don’t become a lawyer. Our job is to stand up for people who can’t do it themselves. Our job is to be the champion of lost causes." Vince is one of those champions.
- ★★★★★Prompt communication, solid team

Vince also, is mindful of the effects these kinds of cases can have on an individual and approach clients with compassion and understanding. E xpensive, yes; effective, absolutely.
- ★★★★★Resolved my copyright infringement case
Ken · business law ·
Oscar is a busy lawyer, but he took my small case. Oscar was honest and easy going during consultation. He even offered me a chance to handle it on my own without paying him, but I chose to have him represent me. I ended up paying 3.5% of what was demanded to settle the case. Thank you Oscar Mich elen for helping us smaller businesses!
- ★★★★★First Lawsuit Experience - Oscar Took Care of it Right....
Brian · intellectual property ·
Last year I was contact by a local attorney on the prowl for image copyright infringement. He had come across an image that we had used, in error, in the development of a test website. We tried to make restitution for the infringement as it was an error and there was ZERO traffic to the page. None the less, we were threatened to pay a $9,000 fee. We enlisted Oscar because of his expertise in representing copyright infringement defendants around the country. Oscar handled things completely taking over all direct communication with the plantiff attorney...and negotiating the final settlement amount - roughly half the asking price. We won't make that mistake again - but I'm thankful that Oscar handled the litigation for us. I would highly recommend Oscar - he was forthright, professional and reasonable in his fees.
- ★★★★★Cyberbullying and Harassment

I was impressed with his perception of my situation from a legal, emotional & human perspective and I found him very adept and knowledgable about the laws concerning social media. He was also very generou s with his time, this being a pro bono case, and most kind. I highly recommend Oscar Michelen.

- ★★★★★Best attorney for defense of infringement of intellectual property
Jeffrey · intellectual property ·
I accidently used a photo on a website and was contacted by a trolling extorting company. He consulted with me and comforted me regarding this situation. From my research on the internet he had the most experience with what to do when presented with the threat of a lawsuit from this company. He gave me the best options on how to move forward. I was very satisfied with his lengthy explanation and was able to make the best choice possible. He was very knowledgeable with great detail and understanding. I would always recommend him and use him again if necessary.
