At my first meeting with Mr. Paul H. Silverman, hired him that day not quite 2 years ago! He was direct, no nonsense, respectful, patient, listener, followed by his calm clear description of what I was in for, and what he felt my options were, and probable cost would be, according to which direction I would choose to take ? His billing; Every minute he spent on my behalf was impeccably described on paper to my satisfaction, in spite of the fact, who likes to pay any attorney. Having invested my life savings, like many many other people with Bernie Madeoff, I was cognizant of the depth of the problem I was bringing to him, since my bankruptcy in 2008. The Supreme Court made a ruling called "Claw Back", which says all victims who took out any interest from their account MUST pay it back. Mr. Silverman successfully negotiated a lower Clawback Fee for me and guided me to a settlement meaning an amount of money as victim, was forced to pay back after eight years. That is the law! All along this negotiation process, Mr. Silverman's patient explanation of my options brought me to my decision to Settle. PS. On numerous occasions Carla Barone has demonstrated she works from the heart, good will and it is not about money. Being an Officer in the Army, my wife and I were going through hard times while I was on my 5th deployment to Africa. As a soldier, I am the one that usually comes to the rescue of others but in this case, it was Carla that came to my rescue. I was physically in a combat zone and emotionally in another combat zone at home. When I could call to the States and speak with Carla, she gave me advice and explained things that made me feel easy. Carla’s words and explanation of the law, and my rights as father made it possible for me to rest easy at night, which was not an easy task. Divorce is an exhausting and daunting task that I entered into with emotional instability and shock. Med iation fell apart and I then hired Carla to represent me in the traditional manner.
