In 2018, I was rear ended in my car while at a stop light and sustained a traumatic brain injury, neck, tooth and back injuries. This review is for an accident I had back in 2014, but definitely bears writing about, now, in 2020. I had a large SUV pull out in front of me, taking a left-hand turn onto the main thoroughfare, on which, I was travelling at 35 mph, the posted speed limit and could not brake and stop in time before colliding into them, in my small sedan. I went to the hospital, as I was 20 weeks pregnant, as per my midwife’s suggestion, and fortunately, had a blood technician that gave me Marc’s name and recommendation. I had an in-person meeting with him and signed the paperwork and got the PIP care required for the neck pain I suffered from the whiplash. The insurance company on their end low-balled us an offer and they (Marc and Karen, his excellent paralegal) wouldn’t stand for it, so they helped negotiate a much higher offer and we succeeded! I really loved working with Karen. She was a dream; very communicative, kind, caring and tough, when need be. The settlement was enough that our budding little family could become first-time home-owners and it was well worth using their services to fight the good fight and pull through in the end. I am ever grateful to Marc and Karen for helping represent me in this crazy hassle with insurance companies who don’t want to dish out when their clients are clearly in the wrong.

In 2015 I was rear-ended in a three-car collision and Marc Johnston helped me out substantially. Marc had been my dad's attorney for a few years at this point and was gracious enough to help me out. During this time I was going to college and didn't understand my rights or how to properly go about de aling with a major car accident. Marc helped me every step of the way. He did everything he could to see that I got more than my fair share of compensation for the accident. My car had been totaled and I was injured. He helped me get physical therapy and massages for two years. Marc wanted to make sure that physically I felt better before making negotiations for my settlement. From the first day I met Marc I knew he was the attorney for me. He was easy to talk to and confident. Marc defended me when I was T-boned in my car by another driver. My car was totaled and I fractured my neck. I sued the negligible driver’s employer who he was driving for at the time of the collisi on. The employer’s insurance company wanted to settle out of court but failed to meet us at an appropriate settlement until the day before trial. We stuck to our guns and the insurance company offered over double their best offer, which we were pleased with. We were confident in doing well in court and I think the insurance company knew that. Marc and his team did a great job at preparing me for the trial and even came to my house to better understand who I was and how this crash had affected my life. I was seen at the VA in Portland for my neck fracture. The VA had a lien on nearly $20,000 to cover my medical costs. A few months after the case was settled, Marc and his team was able to get the VA to drop the lien for the full amount! Needless to say I am very pleased with the outcome of the case and happy to have worked with Marc. Thank you Marc for making sure I was treated fairly by the insurance company.
