I had a gun case and John looked into all possibilities of getting this dismissed. I wrote a letter with recommendation letters and it didn't work, he asked me to get pictures of the scene and he had a game plan to show the officers violated my rights and my case was thrown out and dismissed! I was w orried because there was plenty of evidence to charge me, but John saved my record and future. I am a college grad and I was worried this would affect me getting a good job. John Cossum is the most knowledgeable, trustworthy,and personable attorney I have had the displeasure of having to meet. Nobody wants to hire a lawyer, but if you need one John is the one you want. My particular case was drug and alcohol related. I was faced with five serious charges (Possession of a controlled substance, paraphernalia, MIP, MIC, and disorderly conduct) and I was told my chances looked slim by just about everyone I talked to. Until I talked to Mr. Cossum it looked like most if not all the charges would stick. John told me the exact opposite. He did his homework and worked out a deal and now the arrest isn't on my record, or any record for that matter. I strongly suggest using Mr. Cossum if you are in any criminal related trouble. If he does half the work he did for me for you, you will be walking away from the courthouse with a victory.

My experience with mr.parras comes after he was appointed to represent me on appeal out of the southern district of texas. From day one Mr parras showed his best interest in the outcome of this case.. I was charged with a federal 371 conspiracy and aiding and abetting false statements to various fede ral firearms dealers... was handed and 168 month sentence... during preparation of the appeal Mr parras kept me well informed on updates with the case. He argued that the evidence presented by the government was insufficient to establish the federal jurisdiction elements of the crime I was charged with and that the government evidence on its face is insufficient to establish the very important element... Mr parras explained to the judges at the 5th circuit court of appeals that the government hadn't met it's burden of proof... the government tried to argue that the forms they presented were sufficient to establish this element but a license number bearing no date of issuance of expiration without more could not have proved this element beyond a reasonable doubt no more than assuming that a driver of a vehicle posses a valid drivers license... agreeing with Mr parras the court of appeals reversed the convictions and remanded the case for dismissal... Mr parras put his best foot forward and was very professional at all times of this ongoing battle many thought was a lost cause... I want too thank Mr parras for allowing me too have my life back... I would highly recommend him to any one...

Having only recently finalized Mr. Parras for counsel and representation I will update this review upon conclusion of my case (or immediately in the event of the any extremely unexpected and/or unfortunate developments); however, I'm extremely optimistic given the attention to detail in regards to b oth the particulars of my case, as well as intrest in me as a person. It's obvious that Mr. Parras believes that an intimate understanding of the client bears directly upon the outcome of legfal proceeding. While I find Mr. Parras to be intelligent, articulate, and details oriented, I believe, these characteristics can be assumed for any attorney of average or better quality...even those of poorer quality. However, the more illustrious or successful the attorneys, the rarer to find those genuinely interested in clients as people, and motivated as if on a personal level, to pursuing a clients interest ass one would expect for a family member. Immediately upon hiring him, and more-so as time progresses, Mr. Parras has given just that impression: an older brother helping his younger brother navigate one of life's challenges.

I had a criminal and civil cases for a car accident because I was charged with driving with a suspended license and I rear-ended the other car. I wanted to avoid jail time, and Attorney In-Chul Sohn negotiated a deal on the first court date (Class B) for just a small fine. I was very happy. He als o took care of the threat of a lawsuit from the other driver. Actually, I received a traffic ticket, too, for that accident, and Attorney Sohn arranged for a small fine. So, he took care of 2 criminal charges and 1 civil case with very little I paid in fine. I was extremely happy with the way Attorney Sohn took care of all the problems.

I used this man when I had a collision and ended up in jail. He took a plea and I got deferred adjudication . It worked for 3 years until I got charged on something else out of town which put me in a revoke status. I went to him and he told me I would get 2 to 4 in prison. I got a 2nd opinion' hired that lawyer and never did any time. I'm free today. So look for a lawyer that will work for you.

She is basically a descent lawyer, BUT she desperately needs to work on her following-up skills. She hired Curtis, an extremely lazy process server, who almost messed up my case. In addition, she only responds days later after you ask her the same question multiple times. Moreover, she does not pa y clients on time. For example, she claimed she mailed me my check, which is three weeks after I should have received it. We all know she would not do her job if you are late giving her money that is owed to her. However she does not give her clients the same respect.

Mr. Casanova was very unprofessional through out my case. They offered me a deal after my 1st court appearance which he urged me to take. I declined because I wanted to review upcoming evidence (body cams etc.) I explained the evidence would show my innocence so I'd like to review it before my next c ourt appearance, which he seemed a little annoyed at, he seemed to just want to get things over with asap. The day before my next appearance I hadn't received any updates so I contacted him to verify if he indeed had any new evidence. I came to find out on that call that he had received evidence withing the past week, but he hadn't updated me because according to him it was the "holidays" and hadn't had time. ( It was not the holidays yet). He was seemed to be very annoyed of the fact that I was even asking and was extremely rude during the entire phone call. I asked if we could meet up a little earlier the next morning so I could review the new evidence before the court, afterall that was the only reason I didn't accept the offer in the first place. I wanted to make an informed decision before taking any deals offered to me. He literally said no and basically hung up on me. I didn't understand why he was acting that way, but at this point I had already paid him in full and I was worried he wouldn't help me. After reviewing the evidence he still wanted me to take the same deal even after evidence showed I was not guilty of the accusations. He was upset when I insisted I wouldn't take anything less than the case getting dismissed. He then proceeded to "negotiate" my conditions with the judge, then came back excited and said they'd dismiss everything! I just had to do a few required things before my next court date. Fast-forward to my last court date he didn't show, finally a lady approached me and said she was his mother and she was there in his place. After my court was set and done, while his mother explained a few details I realized he had just worded the exact deal I did not want to take into different words so that I'd agree to it. I tried clarifying this with his mother but then she started being rude too, so I contacted him several times with no answer, I left a message stating that I need to further discuss my case details but I never heard from him again. Beware of this lawyer, he is very unprofessional and He's just trying to get the case over as quick as possible and does not seem to care for his client's best interest.

I highly recommend Mr. Bayoji Akingbola and his staff for criminal trial cases. Mr. Akingbola displayed a high level of legal skills and trial knowledge. From consultation to acquittal Bayoji proved to be an excellent choice for my niece’s criminal case. Bayoji worked tirelessly to get the charges dismissed in attempt to avoid the expense of trial. But the prosecutors insisted on going to trial on bogus charges. Eventually, the Attempted Murder charge was reduced to two assault with deadly weapon charges - which could result in 20 years in prison. Prosecutors offered a 10 year sentence- but because of Bayoji’s counsel, we refused the offer and went to trial. Bayoji professionalism and sharp legal skills were on display for a weeklong trial. He picked a diverse jury. Despite the many tricks of the prosecutors in Brazoria County he showed poise and legal skills that outwitted their schemes. Bayoji’s team helped him prevail. Bayoji’s investigators were able to recover evidence and surveillance footage that proved our case -and proved that the crooked cops in Pearland PD and the “victims “ lied! Bayoji brought in an expert witness who helped the jury understand how the “stand your ground” law applied to our case. Bayoji’s cross examining style revealed the poor investigative techniques of the police. He also revealed the lies of the “victims”. Most importantly each day prior to going into court our family prayed for a favorable outcome. Having a Christ Believer as a lawyer was the strength of our case. He stood on God’s truth and man’s Law to construct our defense. Bayoji joined our family in worship while we waited on the jury’s verdict. We waited four hours for the jury’s verdict. My neice was found NOT Guilty on charge #1 and NOT GUILTY on charge # 2. Bayoji’s defense proved that stand your ground laws are applicable to everyday people. And my niece walked out the court rejoicing in victory! Again, I strongly recommend Akingbola Law firm for any criminal trial case.

I hired Akingbola while I was dealing with an inappropriate conduct with a student case. Investigators were pressuring me for a statement. I was arrested in front of my house while making a u turn, for having an invalid/suspended license my license was invalid simply for not paying surcharges (nothing serious). My experience with Mark Moracsh was marked by rude and unprofessional behavior. Communication felt dismissive and, at times, condescending, especially when asking for basic information about the case. In addition to the poor interpersonal conduct, there were serious performance issues—missed deadl ines, lack of timely updates, and inaccurate filings with the court. I was arrested for possession of marijuana. Being my second offense, with a prior arrest back in 2007 for theft, left me really uncertain of what the outcome would be.The case took a lot of me, the DA told Mark, that because I've already had record he could not dismiss it. I have never been in trouble with with the law and would never try to be. I was just put in a position that caused me to be pulled over for DWI. I have a back injury and had been taking medication, when the medication was changed on me I had no idea it would affect me the way it did. Mr. Derrow was an absolute awesome attorney and I recommend him to anyone that needs help with their legal problems. I was arrested last year in Pearland for a felony DWI-this was a felony because my daughter was in the car. I took prescription medicine which I had been taking for 8 years with no negative reactions. My parents called several attorneys and were told retainer fees would be at least 25,000. Paul requested either 2500.00 or 5000.00-don't recall the retainer amount. The case was located in Brazoria county and he took it even though he was in Houston. I met with him several times regarding my case. He explained to me exactly what was going to happen at each court date. He was very patient with me and my family and he answered all of my questions even if I have asked him 100 times! My case was reduced to a misdemeanor B and I was given 15 months of probation which was absolutely amazing because felony DWI cases usually require jail time and this was a state jail felony. Early in the case I was in an AA meeting and a guy about my age who also had a felony DWI and I remember him being upset because he was to report to a prison the next day. I thought I was doomed and it was the most stressful time in my life. I only went to court twice and the whole ordeal was over in 6 months. Paul was professional and empathetic as well as his awesome legal staff. They always spoke to me for anything! The total amount for his representation was around 5000.00 which is incredible. I went thru a divorce during the same time and it took one year and 22,000.00. I have never been in any trouble with any law enforcement agency and was absolutely shocked that I was arrested under those circumstances. If you need someone who knows what their doing, attentive representation, incredible staff and compassionate and dedicated service then you should hire Paul Derrow. I was in federal holding with a boot leg cell phone and had just lost a trial over a crime I was not guilty of and things seemed hopeless. I was arrested back in 2009 and by a previous attorneys advice I pleaded guilty to a crime I felt I was not guilty of. I ended failing probation and ended up in prison. I was told by many people and read it many times by attorneys and legal counselors that since I had taken a guilty plea there was no way I could ever go back and fight my case. I had never given up hope to one day be free from my sentence or my charge but I had decided to live my life the best I could and only focus on making the best of what life I had.
