I can not express enough the disappointment I have with this attorney. Rick starts off letting you know how strongly he is going to represent you in your criminal case and how, as a former Harris County District Attorney, (Misdemeanor Division) he has the aptitude, experience and contacts in the DA's office to fully represent you. This is what you hear until you hand over your money. The sad truth, from my own personal experience, is that he is extremely lazy and did very little while representing me. I had a case where I was charged with a felony for using the wrong university golf cart to set up a scavenger hunt, in my undergraduate year in 2014, for students to learn about the history and culture of my alma mater. Having no prior criminal record, I found myself in the unfortunate situation of being arrested for a felony. I met with Karen and hired her to defend me in this matter. Hired this lawyer on the recommendation of a friend. Her schedule doesn't make communication easy, but she seems to know all the local players and legal trends. Maybe Alan Baer and his associates at Johnson, Johnson and Baer know something about the law, but based on our experience they seemed to lack the type of desire or drive that we expected for them to have in order to properly represent us as a client. From the very beginning, Alan Baer seemed unnecess arily arrogant, brash, rude and exhibited little in the way of human warmth. Perhaps he had been practicing law for so long that he was suspicious, jaded and cynical. Aside from being charged an excessive sum for their so-called services, Baer and his associates never believed what we had to say about our case. In the end, these "legal eagles" were nothing more than "deal-makers", when it came to negotiating with one of Harris County's slippery subordinate prosecutors. On hindsight, it was never about the truth, right or wrong, fair play or justice. In the end, we believe it was about collecting a fee with a minimum amount of effort.

Nathan represented me last year. He would come see me before court and say one thing, seemed to do a 180 once we went before the judge. He seemed intimidated once we made it to court. After the final hearing, he never once came to see me to explain anything. Ended up having to do a three-way call with my wife just to get some answers, which obviously waived any sort of attorney-client privilege. He seemed distracted and like he didn't follow through with things. I saw guys I was locked up with with court appointed attorneys making more effort than this guy did. After multiple calls to him to try to get things done, I ended up doing them myself and had a 200% better outcome than when I had this guy fighting my battles.

This is my first experience with the court system, and I was afraid. My angst would rise with every step of the process, but would calm through understanding of the sequence of events. Matt is thorough and patient. He took the time to not only go through the details, but also explain them. I chose t o make payments at his office as opposed to online, and while I was there he would review the case with me, regardless if changes had been made. I had been warned by family and friends of the repercussions to come, so I was delighted when Matt managed most, if not all, of my concerns. Mr.Deluca was absolutely amazing!!!! Watching him work was an awe inspiring thing. I got a “major traffic charge” a few years back and he successfully got my entire case dismissed despite damning evidence and (regretful and uncharacteristic) damning on camera behavior. This man made it look easy and was super patient the entire time. To make this review even more useful, I should include that Matt was my second lawyer on this case. The first was pretty bad and did nothing but check boxes and push papers around. I think she thought myself and my family were far less informed, involved and on top of things than we were. She seemed in over her head and like a deer in headlights when we called for regrouping meetings on more than one occasion and had detailed questions to ask. When a friend ultimately showed me how few request for evidence, footage, documents etc she pulled (attorneys can see items pulled on potential clients from the state on some sort of database) from the state I saw that in 6-8 whole months after the incident she had pulled ONLY THREE ITEMS!!!! 1-2 of them downright required to represent me. Firing her and then finding/hiring Matt was beyond a night and day difference!!! He pulled mounds of evidence and I eventually got to see so much of it right on display as I sat next to him as he downright embarrassed the prosecution team and the arresting officers when my trial finally came to bare (actually, it was a hearing to suppress evidence that he called). Matt “won” that hearing!!!! He successfully got all evidence suppressed!! The prosecution team had no choice but to drop the entire case just days later!! Thanks Mr.DeLuca!!! I have a more secure and brighter future due to your hard skilled work!!!!

Mr. Macias was the Public Defender assigned to my foster son, who was jailed for several offenses. I was not sure how much effort a Public Defender would put into a case; I was certainly surprised! BOTH cases dismissed!! Neumann and Rodriguez did an amazing job for the felony case! They were a great duo proving my innocence. BWI (boating while intoxicated). It was a waiting game but paid off over 1yr later. Neumann kept pressing the DA for evidence that clearly was never there and was never provided in the end. After being profiled by Game Wardens, taken to jail, and threatened by them seeing me in court to hold a conviction, it didn't even make it to trial!! Thank you Neumann and Rodriguez!

Be careful before hiring this guy. All the positive comments on his page are paid and this person is a liar, scammer and fraud, all he wants to rip your money and don't actually bother to work on your case and never wants to be get connected with you about the case or give you any update, only tim e he calls you when he need his payment. he's the worse person I've ever seen, he took $5000 from me and at the end he got me into jail and withdraw my case and went for vacation. It's much better to appoint free attorney from the court. |

Attorney Bynum represented my hubby on a misdemeanor case - he fought the case and got it dismissed after about 3 resets. He kept us informed on how the process works and what to expect. The courts offered something like a plea deal with fines and probation- but this man knew his job and refused the offer.Finally the courts gave up and dismissed the case because they had no case originally.
