    Formerly a resident of Houston, I became an absentee landlord for a townhouse governed by an HOA that would make Cynthia in the GEICO commercial look reasonable. Years of experience with this HOA left me with no confidence in the quality of the contractors they bring onto the property, so when the a luminum wiring throughout the complex needed to be pigtailed to bring it up to code, hired a licensed master electrician to do the job and to replace the antiquated circuit box they had required to be upgraded. I notified the management company when the work was complete and submitted the electrician's report. They sued me.
