Mr. Godha was appointed by the court to represent my son in a felony fraud charge that was going to be his third strike. My son was looking at spending over a year in State jail. The situation was probably typical sounding, because it was a stolen check. My son was the guy with the State ID, so he was the guy who went inside the bank to cash it. Ended up the police showed up, arrested him, he went to jail. He was released but missed his court date. So a felony warrant was issued and they picked him up about a month later. "He" (my son) was in jail for about two months. During which time me (his mother) contacted this "public defender" Mr. Godha and just wanted to know what was going to happen and being unfamiliar with the judicial system I was looking for answers. Mr. Godha called me back after I had left a message on his office voice mail. Explained to me the situation. Then listened as I explained my thoughts on this charge. Then we discussed possible solutions to help my son not have to take this felony charge. Since he was not aware that the check was stolen, we did have a slim chance of getting the documentation in from of the prosecutor and judge in hopes of a dismissal. It was a pretty far stretch since my son did already have a criminal past that did not look good. Mr. Godha prepared the documents, and it was pretty much in the last hours. The morning of court we still did not have the affidavit we needed to clear my son of this charge. Mr Godha perused the individual who had the affidavit, the man had already gotten it notarized (thankfully) so it was a matter of sending it via the wonderful amazing internet via cell phone to Mr. Godha who was able to send the document to prosecutor. And the state dismissed my sons felony fraud case. I would like to publicly thank Mr. Godha for his time and efforts with my sons case. Just because he was court appointed, he still did an excellent job in defending my son, and a dismissal was the end result. It does not get much better than that. I would recommend Rishabh Godha for his services. I am so pleased with the outcome.

Ms. Garcia called me on the day of my preliminary hearing to ask me to tell her “what happened.” To make matters worse, this was 20 minutes after the required hearing time. I have never met her and was surprised and disappointed to learn that she would be handling my hearing 20 minutes after the hearing was set to begin. I did not hire her. I hired her associate. I was not told in advance nor consulted at all prior to the hearing. I was blindsided. She had no information about my case, and was completely unprepared. The prosecutor essentially walked all over her. She had no confidence, stammered and used the filler “ummm” more than a professional should. The only reason the hearing was reset and not sent directly to trial was because I interjected (which I was technically not supposed to do, but it worked). The prosecutor excused herself and said she would rejoin later to give me time to discuss the case with Ms. Garcia. She had not reviewed the evidence which I had shared weeks prior. Once I informed her of this, and the prosecutor rejoined the hearing, the date was reset. From my experience, she was not the caliber of attorney I would have chosen for myself. After doing thorough research, I hired her associate based on what I found. With this incident, I felt as if I was given the bait and switch routine. I am deeply disappointed and disillusioned by this. I should at, at minimum, been notified well in advance and given the opportunity to meet her prior to my hearing. At best, I should have been represented by the attorney that I specifically hired. I expect better at my next hearing and will update my review accordingly.

Wow! We are so thankful with attorneys Alma Garcia and Mr. David Breston. This two attorneys did an amazing, amazing work in the case. I hired Nathan to handle my case when I was wrongly accused of a first degree felony. This was the best decision I ever made. I was terrified because I had not even had a speeding ticket in years, had never been charged with a crime, and was facing 99 years in prison for a crime I did not commit, b ut Nathan was very reassuring. When I went for the first court hearing and checked in with the court clerk, I said that Nathan was representing me. All of a sudden everyone - the clerk, the DA, and the judge - perked up a little and seemed noticeably nicer to me. To me, it looked like they all knew and respected him. When the clerk called my case, the judge told me to just stay in my seat while he, Nathan, and the DA talked privately. The next thing I know, the judge called me up to the bench and told me he did not find probable cause for my arrest, my bond was terminated, and I was free to go! The DA dismissed the charge the same day. It was the weirdest experience, but am I glad I trusted Nathan! Nathan definitely knows the law backwards and forwards and works really hard for his clients. I am really grateful that I found him because he believed me and diligently defended me. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs a criminal defense lawyer - you need an attorney like Nathan in your corner.

I was injured in a fall in a commercial establishment that denied responsibility. Sam was referred to me by a close friend. I met with Sam and immediately knew he was just what the doctor ordered, no pun intended, and I/we filed a suit for my damages, etc.. Sam was very strategic in his approach wi th my case. Law suits by nature are a slow and tedious process. Mine took over two years. After speaking and meeting several other attorneys l, I called Charles. We set up a meeting, from the time I talked to him on the til today he has been amazing. He always returned calls, emails. My fiance was facing a motion to adjudicate on his felony probation (which could of meant 2-10 years TDC.). Mr Zavala had that dismissed and put back on probation. He also had the violation of protective order complete with time served in jail. I recommend Mr Zavala to everyone. My experience with Charles Zavala was nothing short of a disaster. I want to share it here so that people can know who he really is, make conscious decision and not fall into his traps. While Charles Zavala speaks to you, he speaks nicely but he is very unprofessional and dishonest in his conduct s. I hired him for my asylum application but I could endure his unethical and sloppy conducts only for two weeks and eventually fired him. These conducts were: 1. In our initial meeting Charles Zavala and I agreed on a price for his services but two days later, he sent me an email stating that he would charge additional $500 for employment authorization application. This was the first red flag but I didn’t notice it. I wanted to trust him but his deceptions did not stop here. 2. He did not follow what is going on with my case. He asked me the same questions that I already responded to his assistant a week ago. There was an obvious disconnect with him and his assistant about my case. 3. I provided him all the copies of my passport, visa, etc. He promised me that he would go over all of my documents. A week later, he was still asking me the birthplace of my wife… Dude, what have you done during the last week? Party? 4. I wrote more than 10 pages about my story, why I am applying for asylum, etc. In our initial meeting he again promised me that he would go over every single paragraph of my application and make necessary corrections before submitting it. A week later, he said that we did not need to submit a narrative; only I-589 was enough for asylum. Even the day before he was supposedly submitting my application, he still did not have a clear idea about why I was applying for asylum. It was very apparent that he did not even thoroughly read my story. 5. I-589 instructions state that incomplete applications will be denied and applicants should submit three copies of each document that they put in the application file. Let alone three copies, Charles Zavala was talking about not including even one copy of supporting documents in the initial application. He was planning to supplement other documents at a later day. Not following USCIS guidelines seriously concerned me that my application was going to have issues, if not rejected at the first place. The relationships are built on trust and I tried to build that trust from the first day I met Charles Zavala. I accepted his quote, his payment plan and made my initial payment on the day I promised. In return I expected him to provide me the high quality service he promised. However, I observed that his promises were broken one by one. Therefore, I fired him the day before he was supposedly going to submit my (incomplete) asylum application. Even though he kept almost none of his promises and did not spend time on my case, he still charged me hundreds of dollars and gave me only a partial refund. He was very rude when I went to his office for the last time to get my documents and money back. He kept me waiting for more than an hour in the lobby even though I had a scheduled appointment. I cannot believe how this guy is still allowed to practice law in Texas. I hope my story helps you make a better attorney selection regarding your case. Don’t believe in lies. Be smart!
