Alan was a great asset in our complicated divorce that involved a complex financial settlement, custody issues, and numerous attempts to escalate the situation from the opposing side. He gave me great advice from the initial discussion to the trial, he did a great job at preparation for the trial and he was excellent at presenting our case to the judge to ensure a good outcome. Alan also helped tremendously in efforts to avoid escalation and when the escalation was necessary, he did a great job at finding the right approach to achieve a good outcome. Alan and his assistant were always prompt to respond and tackle the issues at hand. Alan worked with me closely to make our case, and choose a realistic course of action to deal with the most important challenges and to avoid wasting time and resources on things that did not really matter. Alan had great insights into every aspect of the divorce from financial issues to custody. He gave me advice on preparing the numerous documents, oftentimes avoiding additional costs. He was invaluable in protecting our child during and after the divorce. Prior to trial Alan was very good with advice. At trial he was excellent with preparation and presentation. The outcome was as good as it possibly could have been. Despite a bad GAL report, the judge did everything I wanted and said the GAL was "biased" against me and the report "unhelpful"

I hired Alan on pure referral as someone to help me defend a child support modification filed from my former spouse. He asked me for information or details but then interrupt and be dismissive. He would only explain legal jargon with lots of prompting. He showed up late to a trial. We had a 1.5 h our mediation to which nothing came from it. He was always on the defensive and never used the expensive research to help defend a position. He never wanted to meet in person as he works outside of the City. His manners are rude and demeaning. Due to time constraints with the trial date, I could not change lawyers but should have. In the end, he lost every trial, mediation and oral argument. I was charged for tons of prep work yet spent hours a day myself correcting his work and writing his briefs. He checked out on Fridays when all verdicts are decided and ultimately I walked away with the worst possible outcome. Another attorney had to step in at the end as he left the court order non enforceable. He lost to an unknown criminal law attorney that charges a fraction of what he does an hour. I can only guess the embarrassment this caused his firm. Save your money and find an attorney that wants to help you versus just have a billable client that he tells what to do.

I want to thank both of you for the work you did for my nephew. My nephew had worked with several attorneys related to his divorce and child custody and the relationship he has had with you has been by far the best fit and the most beneficial. You had the patience and commitment to hang in there w ith him to implement a legal strategy that was he was unsure of, but ended up working. I know my nephew is grateful for what you did for him. He also learned a lot in the process about working with others. Having a good outcome at trial and more time with his son removed a huge stress and has allowed my nephew to put more time into not only his parenting, but also his work for the school district and his small business. All that seems to be going well. Having more time with his son has not only been wonderful for my nephew, but also for the rest of his family. It was a great outcome for everyone and wouldn’t have been possible without your work.

Win! Win! Win! I went through a very stressful and complex custody battle with the emphasis of relocation for almost 2 years. The pain both emotional and physical I endured throughout the battle was nothing compared to the justice I received with Mr Khan’s representation. From written arguments s ubmitted in court to oral arguments during trial, Mr. Khan showed his expertise in the courts of Family Law. I asked for relocation after moving to Washington from Illinois when things went south with my ex after the move. My case was complex from the beginning, it was so complex in the sense that I was given a harassment order after a protection order was placed against me by my ex on our first hearing of which at the end justice prevailed. I dealt with a narcissist who played the victim in court during trial. The other party accused me of being an alcoholic mom, with mental issues to the point the other lawyer argued my post partum as a mental health issue (my daughter is 12 now going 13 in a few months, she was 10 when the case started. I had post partum in 2011) and the caviar of their defense, they accused me of domestic violence against my ex and the narcissist one in the relationship all of which I was relieved from when the Judge gave his oral verdict on my case (07/12/24) with the help of Mr. Khan. In the turn of events, my ex was the one who got domestic violence restrictions on him , and with my own good defense, I got justice that I deserve that I was fighting for since the beginning. Mr. Khan is very passionate about his job, he listens and works hard during representation even with a few vacations he had to take during the course of the case when I hired him. But above all, I was beyond grateful for the winning results, winning results of a very complicated case!
